Headless commerce is an established ecommerce architecture pattern that delivers significant benefits for merchants adopting it. Almost all ecommerce platform providers are refactoring their software to this new approach and some have already completed their transition. Emerging, though, is a new breed of ecommerce platform vendor, companies who were founded with the aim of delivering headless commerce from the outset. These companies are receiving large amounts of venture capital funding.
