News - Dr Jochen Wiechen to retire from Intershop as its CEO

January 12th, 2021. Intershop has announced its CEO, Dr Jochen Wiechen, will be retiring from the business during 2021. Prior to joining Intershop in 2013 as CTO he was a VP at SAP AG, the ERP vendor.

Markus Klahn, currently Intershop's Chief Operating Officer (COO) will replace Dr Wiechen from May 2021.

Both Klahn and Wiechen are Physics graduates.

Intershop is a member of our ecommerce platform shortlist . It is headquartered in Jena, Germany, having moved from its iconic Intershop Tower (now JenTower), and is one of the oldest commercial ecommerce platform businesses in the world, having opened an online store in 1994.
