News - TrueCommerce appoints Todd Johnson COO and Peter Spellman CTO

March 30th, 2021. TrueCommerce, a member of our ecommerce platform shortlist, in the Niche eCommerce category, has announced the appointment of three new executives:

  • Todd Johnson as President and Chief Operating Officer
  • Peter Spellman as Chief Technology Officer
  • Andrew Porter as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

The appointments come three months after John Fay was installed as the new CEO.

Todd Johnson worked for over 20 years with JDA (now Blue Yonder) and then as President at CommerceHub, a platform that allows retailers to extend their range using assortments from multiple brands, until May 2020. At TrueCommerce, he becomes responsible for global sales and marketing, client success and operations.

Peter Spellman worked as CTO with Fay at INTTRA, the ocean trade platform business, until 2019 before taking the CTO role at Optoro, the returns and resale business, until this latest move. At TrueCommerce, he becomes responsible for global technical direction, product development, information security and product management.

Andrew Porter has also worked at INTTRA in the past and becomes responsible for worldwide legal and HR teams, corporate governance, acquisitions, compliance and intellectual property.

The announcement did not make clear whether TrueCommerce co-founder Eric Ross, at time of writing still described as CTO of TrueCommerce Nexternal, will be moving on.
