News - Sitecore appoints Nick Malone as COO

February 5th, 2021. Sitecore has announced the appointment of Nick Malone as Chief Operating Officer. Malone was previously with SAP in the role of SVP Sales Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa and brings experience of building a software business in emerging markets.

His new responsibilities will include:

  • overseeing global alliances, partner community and digital agencies
  • global field operations
  • the Sitecore project management office, IT and security operations
  • merger and acquisition integration

Sitecore is a member of our ecommerce platform shortlist. It was recently in the news for appointing a new CEO and Chief Customer Success Officer.

Comment

Given M&A was called out by the CEO, Steve Tzikakis, in the announcement, and Sitecore's January 2021 announcement of a $1.2bn injection of capital (without specifying its source), I wonder if Malone has been brought on board to help manage potential acquisition targets.
